Some Personalities always are not satisfied !!

Disclaimers :- All characters and All names are imaginary

Ram and Krishna are two friends. Ram is a mediocre student and always is happy with what he gets. Krishna is an extra ordinary student who always seeks respect from others and most of the time he curses the situation.

Krishna :- Ram , what is your aim ?
Ram :- My aim is to become a Doctor.
Krishna :- What ?? Doctor , well good choice . In case if you do not Medical seat ??
Ram :- I will go for Bsc..
Krishna :- People respect professionals than an ordinary degree holder.
Ram :- What you are is not important How you are is important !!! BTW what is your aim ?
Krishna :- I want to be a Computer Scientist.
Ram :- Good choice !!

After final exam , Results are out ...

Ram scores 90 % and Krishna scored 97 % .
Krishna :- Medicine needs more than 98 % . That's why i told you take mathematics group. You miss Engineering now

Ram :- Yeah i know. I am going to take Bsc Phy in St.Joseph Arts college. What about you ??
Krishna :- I am going to take Electronics and Communication in NIT.
Ram :- You told you want to be a Computer Scientist.
Krishna :- See, Software is down. People do not respect Software people !! So I would take Telecommunication.
Ram :- What you are choosing is not important but how you are studying is !!
Krishna :- Enough !!

After 4 years , Ram completed his Bsc and has done 1 year NIIT course and placed in Infosys. Krishna completed his Electronics and Communication and placed in Infosys.

Both are undergoing training in Mysore Infosys Campus.

Ram :- Hey , Krishna , nice to meet you here .
Krishna :- I too feel the same.
Ram :- You have chosen Telecommunication and told software is down.
Krishna :- Yes , Nowadays people respect a person who has money so I have chosen Software !!

Ram joined as a tester in Chennai and Krishna joined as a Developer in Bangalore.

Krishna :- Ram , I have got into Development and i heard you got into Testing !! Oh i pity u, People do not respect Testers !! See me , I got into a good development project !!
Ram :- I will do my best as Tester. Nothing is bad.
Krishna :- Will meet you when i come to Chennai. If you come Bangalore you call me.

After 2.5 years

Ram becomes Test lead and he is sent to Infosys, US

People start asking Krishna that as a graduate of NIT Suratkal that too electonics and communication it is not good to work as a software engineer in infosys. So Krishna wants to be back to his domain (Electronics and Communication ) and applies for MS in Florida University. He gets MS in Wireless Communication.

After 5 years

Ram becomes Quality Engineer , Infosys
Krishna scores 4 pointer in MS and Krishna gets into CISCO,Bangalore product development department.

After 8 years

Ram resigns and joins CTS as Product Delivering Manager.
People start asking Krishna that why he is still in CISCO , since he has good background why can't he choose PhD.
Krishna feels PhD is more respectable so he joins PhD in IIIT Bangalore :)

After 15 years

Ram becomes a Quality Control Head of CTS , India
Krishna becomes a Research lead in Qualcomm. India.. He starts feeling working as a researcher in ISRO , HAL will be more respectable ...

After 20 years

Ram becomes Quality Department head of Asia Pacific , Wipro
Krishna becomes ISRO research head . Now he feels people respect College Professors than an ISRO scientist after 'Chandrayan' lost :)

After 25 years

Ram becomes Vice-President of WIPRO
Krishna now is in IIT Madras Professor. He enjoys and student and people respect him a lot !!

After 30 years

Ram becomes CEO of Wipro and Media starts telecasting him every day about the Software Industry.

Krishna's wife and Relative :- See Krishna , how your friend is coming in Television !! People respect him a lot !!

After 35 years

Krishna become dean in IIT Madras. Both Ram and Krishna meet in an occasion.

Ram :- Hi Krishna , nice to see you as a professor. The most respectable job.
Krishna :- Even i also thought like that , but you are coming in TVs , newspaper etc... But i am not respected well!!

Ram :- Hey , Do not always curse the situation . Respect is what we feel and not what others give. From the child hood i have been seeing you , you are always considering others view. Please do not do this.

We both are same. As a CEO I am giving jobs to 1000's of people and as a Prof. You are giving education to 1000's of people so both should be satisfied. Both are respectable jobs in case all the jobs are respectable if we do sincerely. So what you are doing is not important and how you are doing is important !!!

Krishna thought for a moment from the child hood , he studied in NIT , Devolper in Infosys , MS in Florida , CISCO Product Developer , PhD in IIIT B , Research in Qualcomm , Research Head in ISRO , Dean in IIT Madras ... Still he feels he is not in respectable position. He realized that he is always unhappy and feels he is not respected well in the society irrespective of where ever he is and what ever he is !!! He wants to Invite Ram to advice his students. Ram enters into the class and ask people what do they want to be .. One student says he wants to be a Computer Scientist . Ram asks him why ?? Student says 'People respect Computer Scientist than a Software Professional !!! “ Ram and Krishna laugh :)

Do we need Generalist or Specialist ?

Today when ever we come across a prof. or great people , some people say they are expert in Networks , some say they are expert robotics, some say they are expert in Software Architecture. But there are people who can not say that they are expert in a particular field. In simple English term Jack of all but master in none.

Let me tell about my friends, One who is highly talented and great mathematician , who always says that he wants to work in Digital Signal Processing and Communication kind of jobs eventhough he can do anything , he restricts himself to certain technologies and other friend who is not as highly talented as the former but he never restricts himself to certain domain or technology. He does whatever job given to him excellently. Who is better compare to these two ??? Both are best ofcourse, but relatively as an employer or third person i would prefer the later. If i am employer of high profile jobs in DSP or Communication i would prefer the former (This is rare case).

There are some universities which expect students to learn breadth of the engineering and technology. There are some universities which expect students to learn depth of the engineering and technology.

Breadth Knowledge :- Here it is defined as mediocre knowledge in all subjects. The main advantage to this is people can shift their profiles then and there whether it is good or not , i do not know. People can mix and compare the technologies of various subjects and produce some good results. The only problem is they can not be expert in any one of the subjects it may affect their growth in future.

Depth knowledge :- Here it is defined as a excellent about only one subject and its related. The main advantage is competition is very less and they can grow well. Sometime they are demanded for high profile jobs. The main disadvantage is if teh technology / domain goes down or not in well shape , it is difficult for these people to survive.

Over all Breadth knowledge can be reffered as Distributed Computing , Depth knowledge can be reffered as Centralized computing. Each one has its own advantages and disadvantages. Rest, can be filled by the readers ...

Stop calling brother / sister ...

In this blog, i disclaim all the examples are real. :)
Whenever we see a pair (ofcourse a boy and a girl) , we assume they are either true friends or lovers. But one interpretaion we missed. Thats they may be biological brother-sister !!. When we realize that this pair is sibbling then we will not comment. This is universal truth. Sometime people exploiting this. Yes, Today it has become a tradition that when a boy and a girl have intimate friendship, themselves call as brother-sister to feel comfortable. I do not know why !! Why can not a boy and a girl be a great friends. Please stop broadcasting that 'We are brothers and sisters'. Sometimes the most irritating thing is when they have 'lover' (I do not want to explicitly tell) kind of relationship ,they call themselves as Brother-Sister. I know , people who tell they have sibbling kind of relationship have weak heart to face the society. so they are doing these things to comfort themselves .One thing i will inform to these kind of pairs, whether you have true friendship or anything , people always view you in their perspective irrespective of your announcement Of course i respect people who have real brother-sister feelings !! But i request you .please do not mind others please carry on your relationships (True friendships) as it is. If you equate the true friendship as brother-sister relationship for others then it is an insult to both friendship as well as relationship !!!

Hardwork , Intelligence ,Smartness ,Focus proportion !!

Let I = intelligence
S = smartness
H = hard work
F = focus or concentration. Goal oriented
Given these parameters, surviving in this world or sustaining
Surviving
Su = f (I, S, H,F)
Su = a* I + b * S + c * H + d * F;
Where a + b + c + d = 1;

it means when a man wants to survive in this world , which is the right proportion to survive. I assume in this blog surviving = sustaining.
Consider somebody says a, b, c, d, e are all equal for a man to lead survive in all conditions.
Su = 0.25 I + 0.25 S + 0.25 H + 0.25 F;
Let us define each parameter
Intelligent: - Intelligent, here referred as raw talent which means no prior trained mind to work on a problem .An intelligent person ,here can also be defined as a person who has bare minimum knowledge about the concept but he is brilliant enough to partially solve the problem based on some logical deduction and analytical mind.
Smartness: - Smartness , This is also referred as having good networking skills etc..If a problem is given to him , first he finds who are all the person he can contact and complete the work without working hard and without using his intelligence much.( Intelligence means Pure intelligence, Hard work means pure hard work because getting work done also need bit intelligence  and bit hard work ) .(Some people define smartness as riding on others back :) )
Hard work: - Hard working person is referred as a person who are laborious. If a problem is given to him he sincerely starts working for hours and hours , finally completes using his little intelligence and smartness.
Focus: - Focused Person here referred to a person who concerns about the result. His focus is full of completion of work in time with minimum intelligence, smartness and hard work.
Readers can suggest and readers can give few more parameters and definitions.Even i would be happy if readers give the new definitions for what i consider as intelligent , hard work, smart and focus.

Are we doing RESEARCH ????

When I was supposed to do my research for my research elective course , i started with wireless networks which is my area of research. I started studying about wireless , suddenly went through electromagnetic waves , then i went through particles , then light waves, micro waves , x-rays , gamma rays etc.. and finally start analyzing about thought waves . Started thinking philosophically about out thought process. The day over !!
Next day i left that issue and started with networking , then transmission, reception etc.. I started with hardware related to transmitter , i read about network processor then started studying about micro processor which reminded me my BE 3rd year. Then i started going through instruction sets , registers etc.. Then i took Morris Mano for Digital Circuits and went through Registers, Flip flops etc.. In turn it directed me Basic electronics for BJT and Semiconductor Physics ... While going through Semiconductor Physics , started thinking about silicon molecules , proton, electron etc... i was thinking where was my wireless networks !!!
Research are generally classified into 3 broad categories

1. Researching on Good ideas
2. Researching on Implementing good ideas
3. Researching on studying the feasibility of idea

But according to one of teh researchers in an article mentioned that any great research should fall in above three categories and not one of teh three categories.

I realized - Research is not just searching for new ideas... it is a concentrated thinking process to produce a great idea as a result with input as all technical fundas .. !!!

I started working on wireless networks only. I derived some 2 pages derivation and wanted to experiment but i could not practically implement even 20 % of what i had done theoretically. Then i realized “Giving ideas are easier than implementing Ideas”. There are humongous amount of stress in research and it is very difficult to come up with idea + implementation . Research need not be only in technical side , people can do research in any field. My experience is with respect to technology. My sincere suggestion /request to people who are in the shadow of research “please do not say we are doing research , please tell we are trying to do research unless we are not implementing good idea ”. My friend Balakrishnan always says whenever i discuss with him a new idea , his first words are "Check whether is it practically possible or implementable ? , If not try to find out why can't we implement this". That time i always get irritated why he is always defending me but later i realized he is correct !!

Finally , last but not least there are 90 % of the people are normal in this world and 10 % of the people are living in their own world , in that 5 % are mad and 5 % are research people !!! I do want to live in my own world i don't know in which 5 % :)

Other-Religion-Region-Race-gender phobias (OR3G)- Dangerous to have!!!

This is one more my frank topic

Other-Religion-Region-Race-gender phobias (OR3G)- Dangerous to have!!!
This passage is for the people who like a situation based on either region or on religion. One of my cousin Sunder, he asked me a question
"if u become a teacher and u can get a muslim student like Abdul Kalam and a christian student like Newton, in that situation what would u do ? will u reject??"
That was a great awakening question . Do not mistake me as an hindu extreamist i am just a foundamentalist who follow basic tradition .
There are incidences which made me to write this

Why i am too biased !!!
I studied in proper Brahmin school. I was surrounded by almost brahmins and brahmin-like people which means even they were not brahmins they use to
tell slokas ... So i thought the entire world is full of Brahminism :). Whereever i went i saw only people who had brahmin shades.Ofcourse My home
is very orthodox only Brahmin can enter into kitchen etc... I was in the misconception that i was very fortunate that i belonged to a great community and
i slowly realize that people start identifying
me based on my symbols in my fore head rather than ME.I thought it was good. Then in my college . I chose Meenakshi Sundararajan Engg. College where many people were brahmins.
I was very comfortable and start liking the college. So Rather than a community,Brahminism has become my principle !! Then i joined in Hexaware again some of my friends are brahmins and i started moving comfortably.
In IIIT B also the same problem , i have good relationship with spritual people + brahmins.

One more i wanted to add in this,My friend in my Office (He is non-tamilan) , he always criticize tamil
I always support Tamil.Slowly it has stored in my mind that i should be very close to Tamil people rather than others. So whenever other State people started talking about their region/language i got tensed. Then i realized i was suffering from Region phobia too !! Ofcourse thanks to God that i have nature that i can move with anyone but to a limit.

Now whenever i browse through the net for PhD (incase if i want to do in future) . I go through website and seeing professors profile. If i come across any Christian or Muslim Professor ,
my mind unconsciously start thinking that how could i survive with those people , my culture is different from theirs. This is irrespective of the qualification of the professors.
My brain says it is bad but my heart let me to think like this !!!

My mind now ...

I always chat with people who are different.Last month when i was travelling in a train i wanted to talk with diff. kinds of people. Two people asked me "Are you a Brahmin ??".I noded 'Yes'.Then they started talking about Brahmin related things.I got into the same kind of people than different kind.
Nowadays i am getting so many friends from other caste , religion or region so i am comfortable to mingle with people. Now i could analyze in depth that that i should not be biased based on religion because what if i was born in US ? i could be a christian .

I want to know whether the reader of this blog has found already such a kind of scenarios in his/her experience or from others. If so we will find the full-remedy for this issue !! Some people can be uncomfortable with other religion people , some people with other region , some people with other race (it also can come under region) and other gender(This is for people who hesitate or shiver to talk to other gender)

How to come up ??

The comments for this blog can be helpful for the people who are suffering from any one of the Other-Religion-Region-Race-Gender phobias. I can coin this as OR3G phobia !! (Ofcourse i have only 1 or 2 phobias ). Please share your thought on this.

P.S :- This is my frank blog .. so whatever i had in my mind i wrote , i REQUEST people SHOULD NOT mind :)

Are we selfish for some one dies !!!

I am just an event. I am generally considered as worst event. The people who love this world hate me and the people who hate this world love me.Some people say i am the last event but some philophers and spritual leaders say i am just an event which transforms one form to another. - Yes ,i am death !!!

A bit selfishness when we cry for someone who dies !!!

When a person dies, do we worry ?? no , it depends on the person. If he is a terrorist - we think "yes his death is needed for the society" , if he is an ordinary person whom we do not know , we feel sorry but when it is very affectionate people or role model dies we cry and do worry for days. Why ?? .. we cry because we are loosing something. If our role model, or take an actor dies we would think oh..my god he has given so many good movies he will not give further !!! if a terrorist dies .. "abba... he died and we are safe here after !!!. So the emotions we are showing after any one's death is selfish.Do not blame me please think ... how many times we cried when there were bomb blasts... when i was in hexaware training in jul 2006 (Mumbai bomb blast) ,there were 100s of mumbaians in my training. Most of them worried. At first it was just a news to me once i realized that my close friend’s neighbor was killed i started worrying because my close friend cried. My close friend has done so many things and my sub-conscious provoked me to worry because he was crying. We do so many rituals to our ancestors, because we need to get their ashirvath (blessings).. we do rituals because we should not get their cursings !! in either way again it boils down to selfishness !

We must be selfish sometimes !!!

About Selfishness

Ok !!!Generally people say do not be selfish. Do you think altruism is good. I mean some one spends his life for others is good. It is also bad. Let me give you an example :- a person let us take his name as "Karna" spends his whole time for others in the village. Karna is an influential person. There is a reputed college in that village.Only one seat is available. His son wants to get into a college. Another person "Ram" who is a best friend of Karna comes to karna and asks him to help by providing that seat to his son. Karna agrees and gets that seat for Ram's son. Consider both his son and ram son scored almost equal marks. The entire village appreciates Karna. Consider Karna is a humble person who does not do things for appreciation. Do you think he must be appreciable ? no absolutely not. Because he has betrayed his son , family and himself and future generation of him etc... in the name of altruism. Selfishness is needed for a human being and he should get what he wants. Do not encourage people who do things for others without considering him and his family. If you come across such person please suggest or advice him to first take care of his people and then ask him to consider others.

Siblings must be more respected than Parents

(This is to people who have affectionate brother / sister and This would be harsh for people who love parents Even i love my parents and siblings)

I am youngest of all in my home . I have an elder brother and an elder sister. . But i would say if a mother or father shows affection on us it is mandatory on the other hand if brother / sister shows affection that is optional.Love your brother and sister more than your parents.

Generally Parents' biological and mental satisfaction leads to a child. It is their duty to show affection towards the child. They should take care of child. The same way since they show their affection it is the child's duty to show affection towards parents. This is a conditional affection. Think about a situation where a brother/sister showing affection towards a person. In what way and why should they show affection. Please do not think its a blood relation. Yes of course , but when they show it is an amazing thing and fortunate thing we should respect.

Finally i conclude good siblings should be respected more than best parents !!!

Symbols change our mood and Idols are not just stones!!!

I am a Hindu theist. One day when i was going from Bangalore to Chennai, I met a person name is Ravi with long hair and moustache, red color shirt and black color pant. I put thiruman. (Thiruman, a kind of symbol, Iyengars (a division in Brahmin) put in forehead. \I/)He asked me why I was using these symbols, symbols never change value of human. Suddenly we came across a temple; I stopped listening to him and prayed for a moment. He got angry, he asked me again and again. I thought I would be in trouble and I thought myself ‘If I don’t answer I will get one slap, if I answer i will get two slaps’ so I was quiet. He again asked how can an idol change human mood or behavior. Its after all set of stones !! Still I was quiet . He was talking about his view on Hinduism. Finally he concluded that ‘Hinduism is not a religion it is a Foolism. It fools everybody. You people are falling in that trap ‘. This time I could not tolerate because he attacked my fundamental principle. I was quiet till then because I did not have counter points.

We reached a hotel 200 Kms from Bangalore, by the way we became friends!!. We had dinner together. Ravi started again but this time I said first let us have dinner then we would talk. Actually I indirectly requested him for time to answer to him. Waiter came with bill, instead of 45 Rs it is mentioned 65 Rs. Ravi got irritated and shouted at waiter. Waiter went and changed the amount by changing 65 to 45 . He left his newspaper there. I told him but Ravi said no need to take. We went back to our seats .

Ravi was preparing for sleep . I called him
Me :- hi , I have answer for your question, do you want to listen ?
Ravi :- yeah , but it should be convincing , do not use spiritual terms or quotes from Vedas, I have already read so many things
Me :- no , its just an analogy
Ravi : ok carry on
Me: - Why did you shout at waiter ?
Ravi :- where ?
Me :- in the hotel
Ravi :- because instead of 45 he has made bill as 65
Me:- good a small change in symbol ‘6 instead of 4’ spoiled your mood am I right?
Ravi :- yeah , but 65 is more valuable than 45 .So I was upset.
Me:- yeah, same way for us this ‘Thiruman’ symbol which changes our mood positively.
Ravi :- Oh.. you came to the point !!
Me :- now let me ask you another question , why did you leave your newspaper in that hotel ?
Ravi :- because it is yesterday’s paper
Me:- Do you have change for 100 Rs.
Ravi :- yes , here it is ..
I was about to tear that note.
Ravi :- are you a mad ?
Me :- No , it was an old paper.
Ravi :- Now I understood where you are coming . Good answer!!

Moral :- Whether you are an atheist or theist , hindu or muslim , please do not try to demolish the belief others have .

Things to be taken from Michael Jackson apart from music

World has lost a person who has won almost 2 billion hearts. He is called as king of Pop forever.
His debut to the music is at the age of 11. From then he has served for music society till his death at the age of 50. ‘Dangerous’ is the one of the best selling albums in the world.

Other side of Jackson

One day when Jackson was sleeping, his father Joseph jackson jumped into his room with mask and frightened him. Then he reasoned that he wanted to show how dangerous if mike sleeps with window open. His father tortured him a lot. Mike suffered a lot in child hood. But still he could manage to enter into music industry

In mid of 80’s he suffered from vitiligo. It is one of the worst skin diseases. He tried his level best for plastic surgery but it failed. He never gave up , he continued to do excellent work in music field.

In 1993 , he was accused of child sexual abuse. Jackson started taking drugs to deal with the stresses . Finally he addicted to drugs. He had undergone rehabilitation program.

Overall , Even in the adverse situation a man can do wonderful things . This is what we need to take from Michael Jackson. Mike’s works definitely will be a treasure for music world.

I don’t know much about him. Anyway as a human being this article will be a tribute to this great legend.

Computer networks take off

‘Information is wealth’. Today from womb to tomb (from birth to death) everywhere information is needed. In olden days , homing pigeon acted as a messenger and transfer the message from one place to another . It is wonderful that pigeon finds exactly the route using earth’s electromagnetic field. Actually it is under research how pigeon finds the route.

Human race has been inventing amazing things. In these, invention of semi conductor is one of the greatest breakthroughs in the science and technology. Then PNDiode, BJT, MOSFET, CMOS, GATES, Processors etc.. From this, there are several departments spawned such as Electronics engineering, Signal Processing, Computer Science , Networks , Telecommunication etc . In modern world all are integrated. One of the interesting subjects we can discuss is computer networks. Anyone can communicate to anyone in this world at low cost provided both ends should have communication facilities (internet). How many of us really thought about how our messages are reaching the destination ? how complex the technology which helps us communicate. We will see more on this..

Thanks

Worst day in my life till now !!!

In Marketing and Strategy class we were asked to present a topic on a telecom company. Our group which consists of Jag , Raki , Kavitha , komail , keerthika , karira , vanoj ,karunakar,Kranti and ‘karthik and me’ . The topic was given on Wednesday and we had to present the topic on Friday. Two days were short.Ofcourse people generally say even if it is seven days we would start from 2 days before the presentation. But my view on this is , a normal human being always starts working last 20 % of the time. But in our case we started earlier on Wednesday night itself.
Karthik and I decided to represent for Group 4. Everyone agreed and we started our presentation work on Thursday Evening. We decided the topic about ‘Vodafone in India’. We thought we had gathered enough information from team members.

Black Friday

On the day of presentation, I and karthik dressed neatly and we were very (over) confident that we could make the presentation well. So karthik said not to do any rehearsal. By the way karthik is one of thick friends whom I believe a lot. So I believed him  . We did not even test our presentation in the projector screen. At 17:30 pm Rakesh Godhwani who is head of IIM B alumni and he is visiting professor of IIIT B for Marketing and strategy entered and start talking about mobile OS for 1.5 hours. At that time I realized we missed some of the key points. But we could not do anything. We had a break after his talk. Again we prepared well with collar mike and laser pointer. But we wanted to keep our presentation surprise to audience so we did not test in front of them. We paid the price for that.

When I started my ppt all my design went bad in college system. We were upset and we started continuing. Unfortunately we did not add enough information about broadband. So we were screwed.Rakesh Godhwani said he was not happy with our presentation. This is the one of the worst days in my life.

Good day

I and Karthik learn a lot

1. Should not be over confident
2. Should not underestimate the situation
3. Test the presentation thoroughly before projecting
4. Preparation is necessary
5. Its all time dependent 

This was the great opportunity we had to learn from our mistakes. But we worried because it happened at the cost of Group 4 team members.I hope i would change me here after if not i will pay the price again !!!

Positive side of recession

Recession - The word which is uttered thousands of times every day from TV shows to Tea shop bench for the past one year. Starting from CEO of a company to temple priest everyone suffers from recession. In this situation the reader may feel bad about me if I say the recession is positive. But it is. I will explain in this article.

So what is recession? Economy undergoes different life cycles, one of them is recession. In this period inflation is high, people standard of living will be relatively low, business people stop spending or expanding their business and most important thing is unemployment crisis. This is why we face tough situation during recession.

How does this affect many?

US started suffering from recession. The companies In US started conserving money by not spending money. In most of the case the Information Technology is the one of the most expensive investment for core business people. For example Banking, Airlines, Health care etc… apart from investing in their core business they invest on Information Technology for supporting their core business. So in order to conserve their money they first try to stop investing on IT even though it is the most valuable supporting department. Gradually US reduces employment in IT industry. Of course , non-US people would be sent to their home country. In this case most of the time Indians part is more. On-site Indians will return to offshore!!! . (On-site generally refers to people working in Indian companies for US companies in US , off-shore refers to working in Indian companies in India for US Company). Then what will happen to off-shore people ? in most of the scenario these people will be sent home straight away or will be put in bench.(Bench is getting salary by not doing any significant work for company). If somebody is not contributing for company obviously he will be a liability to that company hence will be sent home. This is an indirect way of pink slipping people. This process will down the software people. If software people get affected , consumer electronics – telecom industry – automobile industry – restaurant – cinema theatre – pubs and even temples get affected So people in all industry get affected. It is like a dead lock situation. Core businesses stop IT and IT stops core businesses. If one industry comes back then most of the industries will be back.

How recession will be boon ?

Above I mentioned the bad impact of recession, but if you scrutinize the things we can see recession is not a pit it is just a speed breaker. Speed breaker helps us to control our speed and avoids accident. The same way if the economic grows with high speed there must a speed breaker to protect the world from accidents such as inflation , rich-poor gap etc..

When economy is high, many people get easily placed and go for the job without motivation. For them job is not a great thing. On the other hand during recession, people get the job in difficulty and realize the importance of work. For them work will be worship!!!

In recession , people value money !!! This is most important thing.

During recession the rich-poor gap gets reduced. This is really an important attribute for the nation. If all are in same plane there will not be much law-breaking activities happen in nation.

Last but not least , recession is needed for the world. It should not continue for more than year. I Know whoever reads gets angry on me , I am sorry for this article. This article is written for showing the other side which is positive side of the ‘recession coin’

Thanks expecting comments !!!

Life at IIIT Bangalore

Life at IIIT Bangalore

I am 24 years old. What I had learnt in my first 23 years is relatively lesser than what I have learnt in IIIT Bangalore in this 1 year. I am not exaggerating things. Anybody who leaves home and spends time in hostel first time would think as how I am thinking. The ‘hostel’ life, the ‘away-from-home’ experience etc… will not change your personality completely but at least you can realize the importance of your personality and behavior.

Education

Before coming here I thought education depends purely on one’s ability to learn. But now I realize education is not what you learn. Education is applying your learnings. This is the crucial part of IIIT Bangalore. Reading hundreds of pages for examination will not help but reading some fundamental concepts with ten pages will definitely help. In UG the quantity of reading is proportional to grade and now quality is proportional to grade.

Friends

In IIIT B , it is relative grading. This ‘dog-eat-dog’ world one can go up at the cost of others growth. Relative grading is like ‘dog-eat-dog’. Here everyone knows we may lose grade because of our close friend. Still we help each other irrespective of losing grades. Whenever we are in trouble there are always at least 5-10 people who can console us. Networking is the crucial part of life I had learnt in IIIT B.

Professors

Humbleness, Discipline, Succinct and apt answers to question, Students friendly these are all the qualities of professors here. Professors are not only professionals besides that are also a role model for young generation. “Acharya devo bavha” .Thats the culture of IIITB. I think in my UG also there are so many dedicated teachers now I am realizing.

Projects

Projects are not just simple assignments here. It carries almost 20-50 % of your grade. I realize it is easy to work as an individual but it is very difficult to work as a team.

Difficulties

Whenever we fail in doing something here we may feel bad at that moment. Later the next super fail convert the previous fail small. This is what we have to learn. It is not a big thing when you are not happy in success but it is big thing when you are not sad in failures. Experience of failure strengthens our heart and mind. This is the formula!!!

Conclusion

I conclude this article about ‘life at IIIT Bangalore’ that I am happy to have made the decision of doing my PG. I am fortunate that I am in IIIT Bangalore and I am not fortunate to be in other institutes.

India is a billion strong or billion weak

India, One-billion strong or One-billion weak (this is two year old article ... it was written in mid of 2007)

One Billion! India has one sixth of the world population still it is only a developing country. It shows that India is not using people properly. It is agreed that today’s youth are used better than the youth were used a few decades back, According to our honorable president and a youth icon Dr.Abdul Kalam “We must think and act like a nation of a billion people and not like that of a million people. Dream, dream, dream!” Each and every person should realize his /her responsibility to get to an opportunity and also provide opportunity to others. India is One-billion strong if and only if the people are used properly. In this article I will portray the roles of the people who can make us strong.
First we start with Entrepreneurs who can make the nation strong by providing opportunity to the people. For example, N.R. Narayana Murthy, founder of Infosys Technologies Limited, who graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from the National Institute of Engineering, University of Mysore in 1967 after attending government school, and received his master's degree from IIT Kanpur in 1969.If he had not thought about Infosys then thousands of youth talent would have been wasted and not used properly. India is now considered to be the one of the best software exports in the world. Like him there are so many entrepreneurs finding the talents and giving opportunities. Today’s youth also grasp that opportunity and produce good results to the industries. It is not very easy to develop a country like India which has 1 billion people with different back grounds but it is possible if we have top-class leaders. Leaders should play a vital role to develop any nation .We had Mahathma Gandhi who united the entire nation when there was no technological advancements like telephone, computer etc . Then why can’t we have a great leader who can unite the nation with so many technological advancements. Strength or weakness of a country mostly depends on the development in science and technology department and agricultural department. Fusing the highly developed technology with agricultural (which is considered to be undeveloped department ) will definitely bring up the nation . Entrepreneurs should think in several ways how can they utilize the people and technology together to bring up the nation .
Second , Teaching is one of the noblest professionals yet in India we don’t have many great teachers. Teachers can produce so many great people to the nation . Today many great people who have teaching skills don’t want to enter into this profession because it is not a lucrative job . Institutes in India should be service-oriented and not as business-oriented. I agree that infra-structure of the institute can be improvised only by getting fund from the people but Institute should also admit the qualified students and qualified professors . In many colleges in India , the students don’t have much practical exposure but they are theoretically good. They simply read from the prescribed text book by the respective university and produce the same in the answer-sheet. According to Microsoft Corporation's Chief Technical Officer Craig Mundie”India does not produce enough computer engineers and those it does are good at theory but not very well equipped to handle the practical aspects” . It is not only applicable to Computer department but also to all departments.
Third , our Honorable Politicians , who are considered to be the one of the pillars of the nation . Do they do well ? in every one’s mind this question always arises. No, they don’t do well up to the mark . They are capable of doing so many things to bring up the nation. What is the hindrance for them to bring up ? the main hindrance is that they don’t know the value of talent , value of people . Most of the politicians are not from good back-ground. They don’t know the essence of education. They want to gather votes by supporting their community. Even we can appreciate if each and every politician thinks to bring their community up and as a whole they can develop the entire nation. But it is not the case in India , for example in reservation quota Politicians want to elevate OBC , we must appreciate but there is no valid procedure . In recent occurring , in Rajasthan we experienced the issue related to naming the Gujjar caste to SC. These things show that still our India lacks in managing the people
Next is the best attractive section in the world, yes, Film Industry!. There are so many good films portray the success of unknown talents. For example in the film “Lagaan (Tax) “ there is a must-win situation for village people who don’t know the basic cricket against the English people who play extraordinary cricket . Amir Khan who is the hero brings the people, finds the talent from each and every one and makes them to realize the roles of each one and finally win against British. This is the best example for a leader who can succeed by bringing up the people who are considered as worthless. Even though it is just a cinema still many people can take the moral of the film and proceed according to that.

Indians can survive in any part of the world. Indians can adopt to any situation. Indians are honest people, they respect others. Indians can learn any thing. Indians are brought up in such a manner that any subject we can grasp and comprehend. Competition in India is very much high. For MBA degree in IIMs , CAT is the entrance exam and For BTech in IIT , JEE is the entrance exam which are considered to be the toughest exams in the world for PG and UG respectively because many lacks of people competing for only few thousands of seats .
India’s contribution to the world is enormous.Sabeer Bhatia who was born in Chandigarh who is the founder of Hotmail which is one of the best web based e-mail services. Steel Tycoon Mr.Lakshmi Mittal who was born in Rajasthan is a London based industrialist and fifth richest man in the world.Mr.Amartya San,Ecomonist Mr. Salman Rushdie, writer and so on. India has produced many stars in different fields . In Film Industry best music director A R Rehmann (Tamil Nadu) In Chess Vishwanath Anand (Tamil Nadu) , In Tennis Sania Mirza (Andhra) , What is the difference between these achievers and non-achievers ? They got at least one of the following: - Opportunity, Teacher (Guide) , Role model . If the all people in India get at least one of them they can shine very well.
we can say “India is One-Billion Strong if we have good Entrepreneurs , great teachers , best politicians and excellent role models who can give the new dimension to the nation otherwise India is One-billion weak “

Life at Hexaware

Life at Hexaware

First job is like a First love. It is always pleasant to think about both. I graduated in the year 2006 and joined Hexaware as fresher. I was given a month training in Pollachi. The climate of Pollachi in July was as cool as the climate of Chennai in December. Hexaware training head stated that “Training period is like a honeymoon period” I don’t know about ‘honeymoon’ but I enjoyed training period very well and if his statement is true then I am sure that my honeymoon must be nice!!!.
From the first day to last day of the training in Pollachi i had enough number of C,C++,Java and soft skill sessions. The best part is yoga sessions at 6:30 am. Almost sleeping but still I could manage to do yoga. Surprise tests in the night were interesting things and the most interesting things were when most of the students complained about the food, sessions, the hexaware training head defended and justified that they were doing well.
Next Java and Domain based training started. I felt like a student as well as a professional. Till then I was tangential to Hexaware. After that I was allotted a project called Aircore which is for developing code for airlines. I was impressed on looking the way I was treated.Swipping, Wearing tags Separate cabin, phone, white board and salary!!! etc… I could feel the professionalism but it was no longer existed. First few months I felt happy but after that it had become a routine. My first job was based on JUnit testing for 4 months. I got so many Telugu friends in my projects. It has become a theorem that almost 30 – 40 % Telugu people in all software companies. I enjoyed their company. As far I know Telugu people never keep anything in their mind even if you say something wrong. They are straight forward. My next project was ‘Data Migration’. I got an opportunity to work with good team members ,good leads and good project managers though one of the PMs was very strict .Learnt much in that project. My final project in hexaware was ‘Aircore Depart’. Little bit perplexed because the project had more than 40 people. It was really good. Over all Hexaware gave me a nice experience.

Lessons learnt in hexaware are enormous few of them are below

1. I must be assertive to tell no for no and yes for yes
2. I must be responsible to take the job
3. I must not blame anyone even if the mistakes are not from my side
4. I must not involve in politics
5. I must not back bite

Will continue!!!
