Economic Crisis

Last two decades, India has been exporting software and last decade, decrease in Indian rupee use to have good impact much, because quantity (in dollars) of exports (software) is greater than quantity of imports (in dollars).

But, now decrease in rupee value creates issue because of

1) We import more (oil, cosmetics, food items etc..) compare to exports (Softwares and other products)
2) Our deficit is in dollar rather than in rupees to the world bank
3) Decrease in rupees creates instability and  investment unfriendliness for the foreign companies..

I am in Singapore (1 SGD = 39 Rs (Feb) and now 1 SGD = 43 Rs (May)), I should be happy but I can not be happy and I can not enjoy/ diggest the drastic decrease in Indian rupee..  India does not deserve to be in this situation !!

Around 300 million Indians are getting benefited because of liberalization in the year 1991, credit goes to Dr. Manmohan singh. PM (Pranab Mukharjee) , please do something with the help of PM (Prime minister) !!

Am I right ?

Espncricinfo- an observation

Small observation on espncricinfo !!
--------------------------------
Though Cricinfo is not as great as Facebook or Wikipedia, it has cricket match archive, player information in all forms from 18th century, cover stories, articles .. must be extraordinary with respect to database management, statistics collection and presentation of the data efficiently and effectively

second thing is, Facebook or Wikipedia.. public load information from all over the places, but in cricinfo, set of people (employees) collect and load the information...

Third : They (employees) literally type the commentary for each and every ball.. and update is fast.. may be 1 ball delay !!any many things..

Overall, http://www.espncricinfo.com/ : IT professionals, Statisticians, GUI specialists as well as human-factor analysts to admire !! It will do more in future

Good Six months !!

Excitement, thrilling, tension, changes, emotional attacks what else.. Everything within six months is definitely an amazing and life time experience!!

Marriage or Higher Studies??

You know, there is one famous proverb “If you run after two hares, you will catch neither. Two hares are nothing but PhD and marriage!! My family wanted me to go for marriage and I wished to apply for PhD. They started looking for a girl and I started looking for PhD admission. It is typically a situation for arranged vs love marriage :)
Both, getting an experience from good research centre and marrying a girl with good looking, well educated and good family background are two good opportunities at the same time !! I decided to go for marriage as well as for research engineer position at NTU, Singapore. I know leaving a great organization like ABB Research and going to a new place where I do not know whether I will be getting PhD admission immediately, is a risk and saying "yes" to marriage is an another risk !!

My philosophy is simple "more risk leads to more incentive if we play the game carefully* :) "
*- carefully is subjective

By the way my would-be name is "Nithya"
Betrothal
Betrothal was arranged very well and I enjoyed many moments especially when my cousins and friends were pulling my legs :) most important thing there were definitely some happy faces of family members. My anna is the one who is behind all these things from my side. As per proverb "Jyeshta bratha pithru samaha" (Elder brother is equivalent to Father) and it is absolutely true in my case.. Nithya appa introduced me to many of his relatives I was thinking how to explain if they asked what I was doing then !! Because I resigned ABB and I could not explain everything about Intellisys (NTU)... Apart from these things four major questions running in my mind
  • I have to be more responsible !!, can I be ?
  • My brother under went surgery, when will he get recovered ?
  • What am I going to do in NTU ? and
  • ABB relieving ?
I do not know whether Nithya is confident on her or on me, To my surprise, Nithya was very cool and kept on telling me to smile.. I know she struggled a bit to make me smile which is supposed to be my unique selling point ! Finally my betrothal got over in a grand way, thanks to all who attended and blessed ! Received blessings from great people and received garland from many temples !
Leaving ABB, collegues and Friends !!

ABB research experience is definitely a launching pad for my research career. I learnt many things and earned many great friends. It is really hard to say bye to people with whom I had spent good amount of time by working, interacting and regularly going for coffee, movies, tea etc.. especially rama mami coffee !! Yes I was bit emotional but life has to go on !! I also miss Raghu uncle and his family ( who use to give me food all three times )..
Next is Bangalore, Bangalore is the place which exposed me to the modern world and I consider this three years is definitely a good period for me !! Will miss Chennai - Bangalore week end visits !!

NTU and Singapore

On the day of February 14, I got a good and surprise gift from my would-be and with the joy my first journey to foreign land started !! First few days I was alone and you know, it is very rare "jithu being alone" !! Yes, but I enjoyed as well as bit suffered for being alone.. I got to know about the train system, shuttle and few places in Singapore. In the initial stages, I wanted to get rid of loneliness and found the way that spending time in facebook !! To my expectation yes I was accompanied by many in facebook.. The next week after my coming to Singapore, my under graduate close friend Arun was back to Singapore and for the past two weekends we have been moving around the city. Sometimes I spend time in few exercises and activities .. !! Now I am happy that I am active, independent and gaining confidence !!

Now I have to concentrate on my RESEARCH :)

My next goal is

Now its everything depends on my marriage life.. to achieve what I desire and what I deserve, I pray and seek blessings from almighty, well wishers and good people !!

Religious or Good People !!!

A general analysis of Religious people and Good people

Religious and Good people : This is our assumption and some of the cases it is true. Let me explain this, when we read scriptures our sub-conscious mind observe the good deeds mentioned in the scriptures. Secondly, these people want to be discipline enough to make themselves clean physically and mentally. This is the main reason why religious people are supposed to be good and almost altruist in nature !!

Religious and Bad people: These kind of people are pretentious most of the time. I mean to say as per the claim mentioned in the above example 'Religious people are good' these people want to be religious in order to keep them in the shade of goodness. These people spend 50 % of the life in hidding their bad and 50 % of the life want to pretend to be good !! Some priests are into problems when they are caught because they are in this category !! One very great advantage in this category is , though people are bad but due to religious pretension they are not harmful to the society most of the time. (Here I am not talking about terrorist who go for religious activities and killing 1000s)

Non-Religious and Bad people : This is the category where most of the people want to avoid and should avoid. This is obvious, If you are not religious and if you are not good then it is dangerous to you as well as for the society.

Non-Religious good people : This is a rare case. This is what some times much helpful. These kind of people go beyond the religious, region and race to help needy people. One biggest advantage in this category is most of the time they are truthful to the society and they take care of social activities well because they do not need to hide the fact. Atheists can come under this category. But one of the slight differences between atheist and non-religious good people, NRGP do not disturb people who do religious activities.

So shall we conclude that first and final categories are better than other two. So whether we are religious or not we must be good. Religious activities should help us to become more good (better) and not in other way round such as narrow minded, pretentious personality!!

Each one can be unique !! - a mathematical proof :)

{CREATIVITY,CRITICAL THINKING , RESILIENCE, MOTIVATION, PERSISTENCE,CURIOSITY,QUESTION ASKING,HUMOR,ENDURANCE,RELIABILITY,ENTHUSIASM,CIVIC-MINDEDNESS,SELF AWARENESS , SELF DISCIPLINE, EMPATHY, LEADERSHIP, COMPASSION, COURAGE, SENSE OF BEAUTY, SENSE OF WONDER , RESOURCEFULNESS, SPONTANEITY, HUMILITY , ARROGANCE - quality list taken from the net} The above qualities are just samples.
Let us say there are n qualities and m people in the sample space
Q = {Q1, Q2 … Qn}
P = {P1, P2 … Pm}
->each person has only one of the Q
if 2n > m > n, according to pigeon hole principle there is (m-n) people will have same qualities. Take n is 30 , world's population is infinity compare to this !! so its impossible for a person to have unique quality.
The above mentioned is “Each person has only one quality” but it is not the case in the real scenario. For example a person can have the combination of 2 or 3 or n qualities.. So now the complexity increases
We need to map matrix for each person
P = {a1Q1, a2Q2,……anQn}
now let us say coefficients a1 , a2 .. an can have only two values 0 or 1 ,
Consider a person has quality Q1 , Qn-1 and Qn then the string is
P = 10000…0011
Combinations provide 2 ^ n
if there are 30 qualities then 2 ^ 30 = 1073741824 unique characters which is less than world's population.. But in this calculation we assume a person can have a particular quality or he can not have particular quality.. But in the real scenaria person will have fractions of quality
Consider the fuzzy set { Very Low , Low , Normal , High , Very High } are the 5 levels of the coefficients {0,0.25,0.5,0.75,1}
Convert that to 5 levels … 0 ->0 , 0.25 -> 1 , 0.5 -> 2 , 0.75 -> 3 , 1 -> 4
Now so a person have low quality 1 , high quality 2 , very high quality n-1 , normal quality n then the string would be
P = 1300….0042
In this Qi is independent of Qj where i != j
For example An arrogant quality person can have sense of humour . a courageous person can have love !!
Therefore we can have L^n combinations , where L is the levels of the quality. As we increase L and n the characters lead to infinity !!!
Calculation
L = 5
n = 30
then 5 ^ 30 = 9.31322575 × 10^20 which is very high value compare to world’s population so theoretically It is very much possible that all people are unique in their own way in this world !!! In this proof I have not used time variable .. since human beings are time-variant and situation variant !!!
The people who stand out amidst of many people for the following reasons :::
They have Good qualties >>> Bad qualities
Their qualities do not vary with time and situation very much !!!
They have range of qualities which combine together form a super-uniqueness !!
Examples : Harishchandra , Prahalath , Bagirath , Sachin , Narayana Moorthy , ARR etc ...

Award to Prof.Sadagopan by Rotary Club and Excellent Speech from him.

It is another feather in Prof.Sadagopan’s cap. Yes, On 31-10-10 our honorable Prof.Sadagopan received an award called “Vocational Excellence Service Award” by Rotary Club Bangalore. This award is given to a person who has done excellent work in his/her profession.
When Sachin Tendulkar was given “Player of the year” award.. I wonder “How can a player of the cricket forever be given a Player of the year award!!!” The same way a person who has been providing excellent service to the society for more than three decades is getting an award for service. Nevertheless it is my privilege to attend this function.
When I entered into the Trinity Isle hotel , just Prof.Sadagopan and Mrs. Chandra Sadagopan entered. Suddenly a set of people surrounded him. Prof started introducing people
1) Mr. Manish : IITK alumni , working in Infosys
2) Mr.Shobhu : Working in Oracle , Volunteer for many good non-profit organizations
3) Mr.Raghuram : Alumni of IIITB , Excellent photographer (GTNexus)
4) Prof.R L Kashyap : He was Professor of Prof.Sadagopan in Purdue university . the work from these two
http://www.sanskritweb.net/rigveda/index.html

and so many …
Rotarians talked about Rotary club. I was a Leo club secretary which is a child club of Lion. But here first time I have seen people from great background attending this function. Of course we know the reason !!.Then a lady read the biography of Prof (Citation) and it was pleasant to the ears.After some times our Prof started talking. The below speech may not be exactly the same what he has given but its interpretation of mine .. He has spoken great things in polite way .. we can not express politeness in words but he expressed in his speech !!
All italicized words are my comments!!

-----------------------START---------------------------------------------------------
There are three excellent points covered in his speech

PERFECTIONIST

When he was in child hood, his school teacher “Srinivasa Iyengar” use to punish him if his handwriting was not good. This had helped him and still helping him a lot with respect to perfect writing. He said he writes article or letter without scratching and if it happens to scratch he writes the entire article from the beginning

Some of the achievements
1) He wrote his PhD thesis which has more than 100 pages without scratching.
2) He wrote an article to TOI in 19 minutes

ORIGINALITY AND CONFIDENCE

When his Prof at Purdue university gave him two choices for the project work
1) PhD work in the existing project which was almost frozen but it would provide PhD in short time
2) PhD work – Prof.Sadagopan himself should come up with an idea but it would take time.
But Prof.Sadagopan, to our expectation he had chosen the 2nd one and completed the PhD in very short time
Prof.Sadagopan mentioned that Painting a great thing is always interesting and if we paint from clean slate is further more interesting.
Please note: Our Prof.Sadagopan completed his MS + PhD in 3 years.. 1976-79

LEADERSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITY

In 1997-1998 there was a big revolution in the IT Sector, Government was in the phase of thinking about IIITs . That time our prof wrote an article regarding IIIT. Government asked him to take responsibility for Indian Institute of Information Technology.He has been leading an organization with great employees (Profs) and delivering good products (students - us ).

Lot more to tell in this because he has described the meeting with government officials well. I am unable to describe as how he did , so I left it. If you want to know more please call me #9008855227
He ended his speech in a royal way.

-----------------------------------------------END-----------------------------------

At the lunch session I spent quite a time with Mr.Millind , Rotarian Venki and so on.. every one talked about prof speech. Rajagopal was also with me but I missed Karthik.
I should always keep in mind if we quantify his personality and my personality
|his personality – My personality | is huge value.Prof.Sadagopan is the nucleus we are all electrons moving around him.
I know he would not like if we tell something great about him , but I generally blog what ever I feel.After this function I got motivation and wanted to work for reaching great heights.(Of course IIIT-B has given good learning practice.)

Overall the function was organized well and grandly by Rotary club
This is an unbiased blog . So I wrote this as a common man and not as a alumni of IIITB.

Thanks

Intuitive meaning of Wavelength , Frequency and Velocity Relation -- Jithendrian

This is the one i consider as my best !!
As everyone knows velocity of a wave is the product of frequency and wavelength. The derivation for this is simple and given in so many text books using wave number. But I am totally confused how it can be intuitively and physically imaginable.First of all how to relate wavelength and frequency !! After a long try I came up with some analogy which will help you in thorough understanding of wave equations.Below derivations and concepts are 100 % my own work .. I am not telling this to boast myself but to tell the originality. So please feel free to comment/give feedback

Let us consider A and B are the source and destination . A is a gun and B Is the target
Length of the bullet = l
Distance between the gun and the target is d
Number of bullets shoot on the target = n
t be the time taken for the first bullet to reach the target as well as the total time taken for shooting n bullets

Assume that the bullets are shot continuously , n bullets with length l

Now the distance d can be expressed as

Another way to express d
Let v be the velocity of the bullet
t be the time taken to reach the destination
then

Equating (1) and (2) we get

We know when a first bullet reaches the target at time t there are n bullets are shot , number of bullets shot per second (k) is

Now put the equation (5) in (4)

Now come back to our electromagnetic wave (assume waves are as packet moving in a single path and not as particles )

Wave is like a bullet
Number of bullets shot per second (k) is the number of oscillations/vibrations or repetition of the waves per second which is nothing but frequency (f)
The length of the bullet (l) is the length of the wave (lambda)
Velocity of the wave (c) is the velocity of the bullet (v) Gun (trigger) acts as antenna finally interchanging the above form to

Substituing every thing(7,8,9) in equation 6 we get

Which is the bread and butter equation for a wireless engineer!!!

P.S all equations and pictures are made by me without copying :) using pptx and converted to image. If anything is not clear please let me know
